Position Overview:


As a Network Administrator, you focus on the ongoing management and maintenance of the existing network infrastructure. You monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and implement security measures to protect the network.

Additional Job Description

Key responsibilities:

  • Plan and design network configurations, including LANs, WANs, and cloud based networks (high complexity tasks)
  • Perform peer review for “method of procedure” and enforce standardization and policies
  • Diagnose and resolve network-related issues ( P1-P2 incident tickets) and higher complexity escalations from other Network Administrators and technology stack resources
  • Document and implement complex normal changes and emergency changes
  • Act as a third point of contact to provide technical expertise and support related to network infrastructure to other technology stack teams
  • Support global security audits reviewing collected evidence and participating in auditor interviews

Functional Competencies:

  • Expert knowledge of network protocols, routing and switching
  • Expertise with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
  • Strong knowledge of network security, backup & recovery principles and best practices
  • Expert troubleshooting and problem solving skills

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor in Systems, Computer Science or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of a network administrator or equivalent IT operations environment
  • Can work on-site setup at the TELUS Araneta/Ortigas site on a shifting schedule.
