WORK LOCATION: Hybrid in Cupertino, CA

JOB STATUS: Full-time

WORK SCHEDULE: Mon-Fri

RATE: $26.00 to $28.00



Job description:


In this job you will be reviewing and revising/editing various types of digital text materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to specific criteria or standards.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Review of digital documentation to identify errors, inconsistencies and ensure that changes are implemented against redline, source text or style guides

  • Ensuring fidelity of new document versions versus the original content

  • File editing, revising, updating, inserting data (elements, tables, updated content)

  • Verifying that correct language or translation was used with the help of lexicons or translation tools

  • Checking for errors in chapter titles, headers, and text order

  • Reporting discrepancies

  • Providing suggestions for revisions, enhancements, or corrections

  • Participating in quality assurance of ready documents or peer to peer review

  • Working closely with project managers and other team members to provide feedback, incorporate revisions, and ensure the final product meets quality standards


Skills and qualifications:

  • Excellent understanding of the English language

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Comfortable with repetitive tasks

  • Ability to meticulously review texts for implementation errors and inconsistencies

  • Proficiency in using text editing tools particularly with track changes (e.g., Pages, Word) to facilitate efficient review and revision processes

  • Proficiency in document formatting and document version control

  • Takes initiative, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines

  • Good communication and reporting skills to collaborate with team members and communicate revision suggestions clearly

  • Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines while maintaining quality and accuracy

  • Good sense of judgment and ability to multitask

  • An Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, or a related field is preferred. Will consider an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with other languages

  • Experience proofreading and reviewing materials for formatting, layout, page consistency, and overall visual correctness and completeness
