Description and Requirements

We seek a highly skilled and experienced Program Manager with a strong software development and testing background to lead and manage large-scale IT programs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing software development, testing strategies, process improvements, and team leadership while ensuring the successful delivery of IT projects. This role involves managing a team of 100+ professionals, including software developers, testers, automation engineers, and quality analysts, across multiple projects.

The Program Manager will be responsible for aligning program objectives with business goals, ensuring quality assurance, optimizing software development processes, and leading the team towards innovation and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Management & Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a large team of 100+ software developers, testers, and engineers across multiple projects.

  • Define the program roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives, client requirements, and IT strategies.

  • Oversee end-to-end software development and testing processes, ensuring high-quality deliverables.

  • Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages knowledge sharing, problem-solving, and innovation.

  • Identify bottlenecks, risks, and mitigation strategies to ensure the smooth execution of projects.

  • Manage budgeting, resource allocation, and workforce planning for the program.

  • Establish KPIs and metrics to measure program success and drive continuous improvement.

Software Development & Testing Oversight:

  • Oversee the software development life cycle (SDLC), ensuring adherence to best practices, security guidelines, and coding standards.

  • Implement and enhance agile, DevOps, and CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment) methodologies.

  • Ensure efficient test planning, automation strategies, and quality assurance processes.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement test-driven development (TDD), behavior-driven development (BDD), and automated testing frameworks.

  • Maintain a strong focus on scalability, security, and performance testing for IT solutions.

  • Drive the adoption of modern testing techniques, including AI-based testing, cloud-based testing, and automated test execution.

Stakeholder & Client Management:

  • Act as the primary point of contact between clients, business stakeholders, and technical teams.

  • Communicate project status, risks, and deliverables to senior leadership and external stakeholders.

  • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure that business objectives align with technical execution.

  • Work closely with product owners, developers, and quality engineers to ensure successful project delivery.

Process Improvement & Innovation:

  • Evaluate and implement best practices for software development and testing.

  • Drive process automation and the adoption of AI/ML-based testing tools to improve efficiency.

  • Continuously improve testing strategies, defect management, and software release cycles.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO, CMMI, and ITIL.

  • Promote a culture of learning, upskilling, and innovation within the team.

Risk Management & Compliance:

  • Identify program risks and develop mitigation strategies.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, HIPAA, and SOC 2

Conduct audits, reviews, and quality checks to ensure program success.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Technical Skills:

  • Strong experience in software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall).

  • Deep understanding of software testing life cycle (STLC), test automation, performance testing, and security testing.

  • Expertise in programming languages (Java, Python, C#, etc.) and automation frameworks (Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Appium).

  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Experience with AI-driven testing, API testing, and microservices testing.

  • Familiarity with test management tools like JIRA, TestRail, HP ALM, and Azure DevOps.

Leadership & Management Skills:

  • Proven experience in leading large IT teams (100+ members) in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong ability to mentor, coach, and build high-performing teams.

  • Excellent program and project management skills (PMP, SAFe, or equivalent certification preferred).

  • Ability to resolve conflicts, manage escalations, and drive cross-functional collaboration.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with senior executives and clients.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality deliverables.

  • Adaptability to work in a global environment with remote and distributed teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must have 12+ years of experience. 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, SAFe Agilist, ISTQB Advanced Level, CSM (Certified Scrum Master).

  • Experience in managing enterprise software testing programs for large-scale IT organizations
