Associate Linguist- Vietnamese Speaker
We are looking for a team member to join our AI team as Associate Linguist!
As an Associate Linguist, you will provide linguistic expertise for developing NLP tools for Vietnamese, the target language.
Responsibilities:
Annotation Creating grammar rules
Formulating language templates
Finding patterns
Evaluating existing data Ideal candidates will have native level of fluency in one of the target languages, could be a student in the late stages of their studies, and demonstrate some of the below:
Knowledge and experience
Solid and comprehensive understanding of the formal aspects of the target language (e.g. grammar, parts of speech, formal/casual/dialects)
Knowledge/awareness of linguistic terms and concepts
Good understanding and interest in the current technology landscape: IT computing, AI, machine learning, voice assistants, internet of things
Skills and Qualifications:
Grasping technical concepts and learning new tools
Excellent attention to detail Ability to work independently with confidence and little oversight
Excellent oral and written communication skills
It is an advantage to have:
Experience using NLP tools and concepts
Experience in annotation work
Knowledge of formal linguistics Working knowledge of complex tools, e.g. CMS, SQL, Advanced Excel/Sheets
Some knowledge of programming/coding (e.g. Python, R, regular expressions)
Experience in testing, data processing, database management,
Formal linguistic education is a plus
Full training on tools and processes to be used will be provided.
