Position Summary:


The Global IT Sr Server Engineer is responsible for design, installation, maintenance and support of

server infrastructure to ensure the operation of global systems in order to provide performance and

availability the multiple end users, as well as attending incidents related to the technology vertical in a

timely manner. Additionally works hand in hand with other technology departments as well as non

technology departments to collaborate on the optimization of previous designs and or new platform

implementations and architectural changes. Researches, tests and proposes new technology

frameworks to push forward the effective use of automation and AI.

Main Responsibilities:


Act as the escalation point of contact for other technology stack teams seeking technical
support in relation to Server Infrastructure.
● Ticket management and resolution - P2-P1 Incident tickets (Priority). Might be engaged in P3
Incidents serving as supporting guide to less senior resources.
● Handles technical escalations from other Server Engineers and Administrators (Junior,
Intermediate, Senior) as well as other technology stack peers.
● Documents and Implements complex Changes, as well as Emergency Breakfix Changes.
● Performs peer reviews for Method of Procedure and enforces Policies and standardization.
● Works along other teams to plan and deploy major patches and/or upgrades to the entire
multitiered Infrastructure environment stack.
● Operates highly complex tasks on Virtualization technologies like VMWare, ESXi, ProxMox,
Storage and Physical Servers, Hybrid Cloud, etc.
● Configure and operate DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, NTP, Shared Folder Services, Proxies,
Miscellaneous Operating Systems, and related technologies.
● Provides Support to Global Security Audits acting as POC from IT Server Team within the
Auditor Interviews and overviews evidence collected to be provided to auditors.
● Perform other project related duties as requested by management, including mid to high
complex hardware and software maintenance on servers devices/ cloud, virtual services.
● Teamwork and Remote Work skills, including mentoring at a distance.
● Contributes to the definition of Standard Operating procedures and overall technology Stack
Standards including peer reviewing knowledge base contributions.
● Able to effectively project costs for maintenance of legacy and/or new technologies to be
acquired/implemented, including major architectural changes.
● Takes ownership and oversees major projects, ensuring the designed solution is executed in a
timely fashion, in line with the defined standards and within the assigned budget.
● Troubleshoots and identifies technical problems, diagnoses error messages, determines
causes, and either provides resolution or escalates to the proper support team if a design
change is required.
● Records interactions into the ticketing system ensuring accurate and complete ticket updates
on either requests or incidents, including updating CMDB.
Design and plan the server infrastructure solutions based on organizational needs and
document our roadmap for technologies such as: Active Directory, Azure AD, Identity SSO,
Hybrid Cloud, Storage, etc.
● Researches, develops new solutions and designs for them in a manner that improves and
pushes forward automation initiatives to optimize time to deploy (Infrastructure as Code).
● Perform peer reviews and approval on Method of Procedures for Changes to be implemented
by Server Administrators/Engineers, ensuring that they are consistent with the architecture
frameworks.
● Performs effective capacity management and sizing to continue supporting current
infrastructure including organic growth, new launches, Mergers and Acquisitions and integrations.
● Design and oversee implementation of security measures to protect server infrastructure from
potential threats and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
● Acts as Subject Matter Expert for multiple technologies and is a liaison to other technology
departments to ensure timely deliverables.


Specific Qualifications:


Virtualization / Hypervisor Strong knowledge and practice background

○ Windows Active Directory strong knowledge and practice background

○ Windows Infrastructure Services: DHCP, DNS, DFS, WSUS, NTP, WSFC, Certificates.

○ Strong troubleshooting knowledge and understanding for multi-tiered architecture.

○ Strong Linux Administration: administration, maintenance, deployment, upgrades.

○ Powershell Scripting, Bash Shell Scripting, Python Scripting, etc.

○ Storage SAN and VirtualSan knowledge and practice background.

○ Cisco UCS, HP & Dell Servers Knowledge (EMC + HyperConverge/Hyperflex)

○ Strong Cloud Technologies knowledge (GCP, Azure, AWS) .

○ Miscellaneous Application Services; Proxy, Webserver, SFTP, Postfix, SMTP,

LoadBalancers, Monitoring and Metrics, etc.

○ DevOps Technologies Knowhow (Docker/Kubernetes/Containers/etc.)

○ Automation and Orchestration


Education/Experience:


  • Bachelor Degree of any IT related course and minimum of 5+ years experience in a systems development role. (desirable)
  • Experience in Virtualization VMWare, ProxMox, KVM, Hyper-V
  • Experience in the entire Windows Stack.
  • Experience in Virtualization for Virtual Desktop Environments
  • Experience in Microsoft Windows, Active Directory and entire Windows Stack.
  • Infrastructure Management, Physical Servers, Physical Storage, etc.
  • Strong Cloud Knowledge & interaction in any/all of these technologies: GCP, Azure, AWS. GCP Cloud Engineer (desirable) / AWS Associate SysOps Admin (desirable)
