About the Role
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Automation QA Engineer to join our quality assurance team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in modern automation testing tools, frameworks, and methodologies. You will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions by designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test suites for web, mobile, and API applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Automation Testing: Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation test scripts using modern tools and frameworks.
- Test Strategy: Collaborate with development and QA teams to define and implement robust test strategies, focusing on automation coverage.
- API Testing: Hands-on experience with API testing tools and frameworks (JUnit/TestNG, Postman Newman, RestAssured, BDD, SoapUI, etc.).
- UI Testing: Create and maintain automated UI tests for web and mobile applications using tools like Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or Appium.
- Performance Testing: Use tools like JMeter, Gatling, or k6 to conduct performance and load testing as needed.
- CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Bug Management: Log and track defects in tools like JIRA, ensuring timely resolution.
- Reporting: Generate comprehensive test reports and metrics to communicate automation progress and effectiveness.
- Stay Updated: Keep up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in test automation and propose improvements to the testing process.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance. (Mandatory).
- Testing Tools: Proficiency in automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, or similar.
- Programming: Strong programming skills in languages like Java (Mandatory), Python, JavaScript, or C#.
- API Testing: Hands-on experience with API testing tools and frameworks (Postman, RestAssured, SoapUI, etc.).
- Version Control: Experience with version control systems like Git.
- Test Frameworks: Knowledge of test frameworks like TestNG, JUnit, Pytest, or Mocha.
- Performance Testing: Experience with tools like JMeter, Gatling, or k6 is a plus.
- CI/CD Integration: Familiarity with integrating automation suites into CI/CD pipelines.
- Agile Practices: Experience working in Agile environments and participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud-based testing tools such as BrowserStack or Sauce Labs.
- Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker.
- Familiarity with BDD frameworks like Cucumber or SpecFlow.
- Experience with AI/ML-based testing tools or techniques.
- Understanding of security testing and tools like OWASP ZAP or Burp Suite.
- ISTQB certification or equivalent is a plus.
