The Business Intelligence Specialist key responsibilities involve data extraction & maintenance, data modelling and transformation and data statistics/insights. Given that they receive various requests from Operations and Account Support Functions(WFM, CE, Coaching), it is a must to have strong task prioritization skills in addition to good statistical and critical thinking skills.
The Business Intelligence Specialist must be a compelling Data Storyteller. Data storytelling is a structured approach for communicating data insights, and it involves a combination of three key elements: data, visuals, and narrative. Weekly Reports must contain Prescriptive Actions that the Operation Team can implement to help drive improvement in operation performance.
A strong proficiency with computer application components such as Microsoft Office(Excel, Powerpoint) and G-Suite is a must. Possess the ability to learn and navigate tools and dashboards. Must demonstrate professionalism at all times and utilize excellent written and oral communication skills. The Reporting Analyst will have a passion for ensuring data quality, analyzing data and identifying patterns and trends as well as building engaging visualizations that simplify complex stories.
Roles and Responsibilities
Work closely with business users & heads of departments to understand reporting requirements & identify reporting and/or system/process solutions
Negotiate and manage with key stakeholders while influencing & challenging stakeholders to agree on reporting solutions
Develop business reporting requirements, functional specifications, test plans and related documentation in support of BI solution delivery initiatives
Work closely with the Data Engineering team through development iterations to develop a knowledge and understanding of Database Design Principles.
Creates relational data models (Kimball/Inmon methodologies), builds dashboards and leads the “unit-testing” stage of BI Development (i.e. testing overall functionality of BI tool and ensuring data accuracy)
Leads and serves as the main development Point-of-Contact (POC) in all projects that may be assigned to him/her that may require simple to moderately complex development. These may include: (Requirements Analysis, Input on assessment and planning activities, Data Model Design, Solution Risk assessment / mitigation (Manual/Automated), Data Model and Dashboard Build, Unit Testing, Continuous alignment to program/account reporting scope)
Work with multiple stakeholder groups across multiple TI geographies to collect and present the dashboards and other reporting tools as necessary
Participates in the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) stage of each project and helps document all feedback and results as well as report back his/her findings and recommendations to the Sr. BI Developer and BI Solutions Analyst as required.
Serves as the main Point-of-Contact (POC) responsible for the documentation and creation of the account “User Guide” for each project he/she supports and assists during the Training and Implementation of the dashboard
Qualifications
Experience in building dashboards using Looker Studio, Looker Pro, Looker ML
Proficient in using SQL via BigQuery and experience in navigating Google Cloud Platform
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
At least 1-2 years of experience in the Business Intelligence industry or equivalent
Excellent English communication skills
