The team at TELUS International is seeking a Quality Controller Lead to assist in supervising the quality function of global GenAI projects. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in developing or testing large language models and will be instrumental in building our qualification testing protocols for contributors, as well as refining our production workflow to ensure the delivery of data that improves our customers' models. It is a position that requires attention to detail,  discipline and motivation as well as deep analytical skills.  

The successful candidate will report to the Quality Manager. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the quality initiatives for single or multiple projects in the GenAI/LLM space and ensure program delivery is in line with customer  performance metrics   

  • Lead a group of Writers/Quality Controllers/Analysts within the Quality function 

  • Deliver regular reports and results of quality performance and improvement initiatives from direct reports, as well as  escalate any potential issues to the Quality Manager 

  • Responsibility for the quality across multiple projects locales, including responsibility for testing, quality reviews and  education/training 

  • Provide educational support through web-based eLearning materials, online video production and  webinar hosting, to support performance improvement processes and ensure clear understanding of  guidelines and tasks 

  • Responsibility for the direct support, regular feedback and performance management for the identified group, including goal setting and monitoring of performance 

  • Onboard new hires and ensure on the job training is conducted effectively and on time

  • You may be required to fulfill other duties as needed due to customer requirements, such as represent the Quality function in customer calls

Skills & Experience:  

  • Third level qualification or equivalent experience required

  • 1 year of experience as a team leader or in a quality-related role - required

  • Expertise in LLMs and Generative AI: Deep understanding of large language models, data structures, and generative AI workflows. Experience in deploying and fine-tuning AI technologies.

  • Proven ability to design and lead quality assurance processes, familiarity with modern QA methodologies and tools. - required

  • Extensive knowledge and interests of GenAI systems, processes, and technologies is required to ensure the quality standards of GenAI project deliverables.

  • Deep commitment to customer satisfaction with in-depth knowledge of program performance metrics 

  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality with proprietary information 

  • Effective leadership and excellent interpersonal skills 

  • Time management and strong organizational skills are essential 

  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills and excellent communications 

  • Proactive problem solver and innovator with a high degree of initiative  

  • Strong team player with the ability to partner across full-program team 

  • Experience in a global multinational work environment
