Remediation Engineer

Job Summary
Join the Software Development & IT team of a Fortune 100 company, supporting front-end applications and edge services for residential and SMB sales orders. This role bridges security testing and secure application delivery, focusing on Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) results analysis, vulnerability remediation, and compliance assurance. You’ll work closely with security and development teams to strengthen our security posture and meet compliance requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret VAPT and security assessment results from the central security team.

  • Distinguish true positives from false positives; own remediation efforts with development teams.
    Provide secure coding guidance (e.g., preventing SQL Injection, XSS, Session Hijacking).

  • Validate remediation and resubmit applications for re-testing until cleared for production.

  • Analyze vulnerability and risk findings, track remediation progress, and report status.

  • Facilitate risk assessments, respond to audits, and handle compliance questionnaires.

  • Develop policies, processes, training, and best-practice documentation.
    Host security posture update meetings with application, security, and leadership teams.

  • Partner with security teams to improve tool/report data quality.


Time Allocation

  • ~25% – Penetration testing & vulnerability assessment.

  • ~75% – Remediation, validation, and compliance activities.


Preferred Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years in software engineering, cybersecurity, or cyber-audit.

  • Strong AppSec & InfoSec knowledge for on-prem and AWS environments.

  • Familiar with Data Center/AWS infrastructure, virtualization, and containerization.

  • Security certifications (CCSP, CISSP) preferred.

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills, including presenting to senior leaders.

  • Experience in ITIL, agile, and DevSecOps cultures.

  • Background in software engineering, delivery, or project management is a plus.
