About the role

As a Backend Software Engineer, you’ll play an important role in designing, developing, and deploying backend services and APIs, ensuring seamless integration with frontend applications and other internal services. Leveraging cloud technologies, automation practices, and coding standards, you will build scalable, secure, and high-performance services to support AI-driven initiatives. Your expertise and proactive problem-solving will significantly contribute to the agility and technical excellence of our growing team.

Responsibilities

  • Implement backend services that interact with frontend interfaces, other services, and databases.

  • Apply and ensure the best practices of software development, including SOLID principles and clean coding. 

  • Lead the charge on the use of automated deployment methodologies such as CI/CD tools and Infrastructure as a code.

  • Develop and maintain high-performance, secure, and scalable software applications using cutting-edge technologies.

  • Collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders to understand requirements 

  • Identify obstacles to ensure quality, improve our user experience, and how we build tests.

  • Demonstrate a pro-active approach to problem solving, while collaborating with team members and stakeholders. 

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant web development experience writing high-quality code from scratch.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript.

  • Experience implementing web security standards in development.

  • Experience with cloud platforms, microservices, and serverless architecture.

  • Proficient in managing delivery, testing, and release management.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, open-mindedness, and a knack for giving and receiving constructive feedback..

  • Proficient in communicating and writing in English


Nice to Have

  • Hands-on experience building and deploying solutions on GCP, using services such as ApiGee, CloudRun, BigQuery, and others.

  • Practical understanding of back-end code, databases (SQL and NoSQL), security, and APIs.

  • Familiarity with AI-first coding environments, leveraging Cursor, Cline, etc.

  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, etc., and experience setting up deployment pipelines.

  • FastAPI, Node.js/Deno.js and Next.js is a plus
