Position Overview:


As a SaaS Developer - Junior at TELUS Digital, you will be responsible for writing code, assisting in the development of cloud-based software applications within a SaaS platform(ServiceNow desired), performing testing, debugging under guidance from senior developers and actively learning new technologies while collaborating with the development team to maintain custom applications that meet unique business. You will develop solutions using web-based technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, ReactJS, etc.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of new functionalities and/or enhance existing features.

  • Build technical designs and perform coding aligned with technical requirements.

  • Contribute to document and share technical knowledge to support solutions (Application & Development, user manual, testing manual).

  • Conduct testing to ensure code quality and functionality.

  • Actively learn new emerging technologies like Generative AI, RPA, Automation, etc.

  • Collaborate effectively with other team members to meet project deadlines.

  • Assist maintenance scheduling and correct identified defects.

  • Manage communication with multiple stakeholders to ensure transparency and effectiveness.

  • Follow established coding standards and best practices.

Functional Competencies:

  • Basic knowledge of database concepts and SQL querying(e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server).

  • Basic knowledge at least one relevant programming language (e.g.,  JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, Python).

  • Basic knowledge of SaaS platforms (ServiceNow desired).

  • Basic knowledge of ITIL framework.

  • Basic understanding of web technologies like HTML, CSS and JavaScript frameworks(e.g., React, Angular).

  • Basic knowledge of emerging technologies like Generative AI and RPA applications.

  • Analytical thinking and ability to solve technical problems.

  • Basic understanding of development process, software design patterns, object-oriented programming.


Desired Skills:

  • Experience or knowledge of RESTful APIs

  • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git, Bitbucket, GitLab, TFS)

  • Agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills


Qualifications:

  • 0-2 years of experience.

  • University student or undergraduate in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.

  • A2+ oral and written English proficiency.
