Position Overview:
The Facilities Assistant I role will assist and support general facilities responsibilities within the site, including light industrial work, maintenance duties, and making minor repairs as needed. Qualified candidates should have general knowledge of building maintenance.
Specific Responsibilities May Include:
Inspect inventory and update team leader as needed
Meticulously install new equipment using cable management best practices
Maintain notes on daily tasks and duties
Evaluate, repair and maintain minor electrical and plumbing matters
Communicate with facilities management about any work that requires outside expert assistance
Receive and respond to tenant reports of mechanical or maintenance issues
Work with tools and supplies necessary to complete projects
Maintain corporate safety procedures at all times and comply with access control regulations
Other maintenance duties as assigned that may require moderate to heavy lifting
New project work may also be assigned
Required Experience, Skills & Competencies:
Previous work experience as a maintenance worker, repairman, handyman, or similar role
Knowledge of general repair work
Experience using common hand and electrical tools
Willingness to inspect and evaluate all mechanical aspects of the building
Must have the ability to climb ladders or work with various heights, and lift up to 30 lbs
Computer literate and familiarity with different operating systems & applications
Stable employment history
Analytical and problem-solving abilities
Strong customer-service orientation
Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment while also having the capability to self-manage in order to complete tasks with minimal supervision
Ability to manage multiple, often competing, priorities and tasks and follow through to completion on strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Adaptive to changing work schedules and working hours, including the ability to work evenings and weekends as assigned
High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Experience:
1 year of training and/or work experience with preventative and corrective maintenance in mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems to include emergency generators
Knowledge of fire safety, OSHA, building standards and computers
