The team at TELUS Digital is seeking a Data Scientist/Coder to join a team of experts in charge of building and enhancing search experiments.
As a Data Scientist/Coder, you will collaborate with our customer to understand complex data models and determine the best approach to collect efficiently meaningful information. This will include reading and understanding code behind UX Designs and ability to tailor it based on team and customer consensus. Best practices in data harvesting is required in order to deliver best methods to the client when it comes to data collection. Responsibilities involved designing data models to organize and structure data for efficient retrieval, work in harmony within the team to ensure smooth integration of the data architecture as well as iterating on designs based on engineering team feedback and acute knowledge of internal Guidelines concepts and customer’s philosophy.
In this role, you will be part of a team of Template Design Experts. By working together, you will ensure that all engineering needs are being met as well as ensuring maximum engagement from raters. Your acute knowledge in Data Modeling will allow our team to reach its full potential and deliver ahead of the curve when it comes to customer needs.
The ideal candidate should be solution-oriented, have a passion for user-centered design, data mining and the ability to balance user needs with customer objectives. A strong understanding of AI and how data can improve it is key.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams of Software Engineers & Project Managers to ensure their desired goals and timelines are met.
- Engage with client PgMs to understand detailed requirements & ensure the final data output achieve the desired outcome & meet their vision.
- Conduct user research to make informed design decisions when it comes to data collection.
- Ability to interpret established guidelines/instructions and identify gaps that may impact quality of data to be harnessed– being mindful of how questions & guidelines are phrased to the survey takers & the impact of poorly structured data flow may have on quality of data retrieved.
- Translate concepts into data flows, processes and key outputs that enable intuitive user experiences and promote data relevance. Create interfaces prototypes using the client’s tool from inception to deployment.
- Drive data harvesting consultations and initiatives, leading ideation sessions, demos, and presentations with customer stakeholders.
- Conduct usability testing and iterate on interfaces based on user/engineers feedback.
- Summarize findings from usability testing sessions, identify design problems, detail the impact of issues identified and propose solutions on how to fix them.
- Be passionate about resolving user pain points through clear guidelines and great design.
- Champion new ideas and drive the implementation of new features to support an excellent user experience.
- Understand workflow metrics that will be used to determine if the task design was successful.
- Be aware of policy nuances for each task type/workflow.
- Apply best AI enhancement practices based on your knowledge and industry evolution.
- Monitor industry trends and best practices in data science, coding and AI models.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience in a client-facing role, translating customer needs and project requirements.
- Strong understanding of Agile Methodology
- Experience effectively communicating feedback on guidelines & UX design to customer stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of coding languages (HTML, CSS, JSON, Javascript, Python…).
- At least one year of experience in AI Models processes and improvement methods.
- Experience in user-centered design principles is preferred but not essential.
- At least 2 years of experience in data management.
