Description and Requirements

  • Knowledge of transmission equipment and associated terminologies.

  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to isolate and resolve troubles in access systems, SONET transport technologies, EDSX cross-connects, OTN, CPL, CDC, PTS, RLS/ELS, synchronization

  • Knowledge of transport hierarchies (OTU, OCx, SONET, STSx, Tx, etc.)

  • Should have worked on transport equipment like Ciena/ Nortel, Fujitsu, Nokia / Alcatel Lucent.

  • Collaborate with other team members for trouble resolution 

  • Work with technicians who call in for assistance and/or are acting as “hands and feet” for assurance on-site 

  • Initiate and/or respond to queries, discuss trouble details and confirm resolutions directly with stakeholders and other team members

  • Must be able to understand and effectively perform work in accordance with published work plans, processes and procedures 

  • Normal colour vision to work with colour-coded diagrams and tools

  • Must be willing and able to work various shifts as assigned (such as evenings, weekends and statutory holidays) 

  • Demonstrated professional oral and written communications skills.

  • Work Shift (IST): Should be flexible working in rotational shifts. (Mostly in Night shift - Canadian Working Hours)

Additional Job Description

  • Must have 5+ years of experience

  • Should be Btech or equivalent.

  • Must be CCNA/CCNP Certified or Trained.

  • Good understanding of SONET

  • Good understanding of  transport hierarchies (OTU, OCx, SONET, STSx, Tx, etc.)

  • Good knowledge of SONET transport technologies, EDSX cross-connects, OTN, CPL, CDC, PTS, RLS/ELS,

  • Good understanding of Ringpath and protection schemes.

  • Should have hands-on experience on Ciena/ Nortel, Fujitsu, Nokia / Alcatel Lucent.

  • Knowledge of automated provisioning, network telemetry, circuit documenting, ticketing, testing and dispatch systems

  • Self-motivated, work well with minimal or no direct supervision

  • Ability to coordinate with various teams for the successful completion of tasks

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively.

  • Follow up on pending requests with stakeholders to ensure timely closure of request.

  • Provide accurate, valid and complete information by using the right methods/tools.

  • Must be comfortable working Late evening/night shifts permanently.

  • Must be comfortable working from office permanently

  • Should be flexible with working on Indian holidays.

  • Must be comfortable relocating to Delhi/Noida region.
