As a Senior Technical Product Manager, you will be a pivotal leader in shaping the future of our smart home platform. You will drive the strategic vision and execution of back-end services that power seamless and innovative experiences for users globally. Embedded within an Agile development squad, you'll collaborate closely with Feature Owners, Software Development Managers, Technical Leads, and Engineers to define, prioritize, and deliver high-impact solutions. You will be responsible for translating complex technical requirements into actionable product roadmaps, ensuring our platform's scalability, reliability, and performance. This role demands a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong communication skills to drive product success and deliver exceptional value to our customers.

Responsibilities:

• Product Strategy and Roadmap: Develop and maintain a clear product vision and roadmap for the back-end platform, aligning with overall business objectives and market trends.
• Agile Product Ownership: Serve as the primary product owner within an Agile development squad, defining sprint goals, prioritizing the backlog, and ensuring timely delivery of features.
• Requirements Definition: Break down complex features into Epics and User Stories with clear acceptance criteria, facilitating effective design, development, and testing.
• Backlog Management: Build, prioritize, and manage the product backlog, balancing technical debt, new feature development, and performance improvements.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with engineering, design, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective execution of product initiatives.
• Dependency Management: Identify and manage dependencies between features and teams, ensuring smooth integration and delivery.
• Performance Monitoring and Analysis: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and identify areas for improvement.
• Market and Competitive Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to inform product strategy and roadmap.  
• Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate product vision, strategy, and progress to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Proven experience as a Technical Product Manager or Product Owner, ideally with a focus on back-end systems and platform development.
• Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies and experience working in an Agile environment.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear product requirements.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.  
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience defining and tracking KPIs to measure product success.  
• Strong understanding of back end architecture, and distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud based systems.

Great-to-haves:

• Experience with both B2B and B2C or B2B2C product management.
• Experience managing products in a global or multi-market environment.
• Strategic understanding of smart home and IoT technologies.
• Expertise in one or more of the following areas: authentication, authorization, AI/ML, rules engines, event management, IoT device life cycle management, electrical engineering, or grid management.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• MBA is considered a strong asset.
