Description and Requirements

As an active member of TELUS Digital, you will be at the heart of a major TELUS transformation program and will be supporting it as a Software Development Manager. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage software development projects and ensure they are delivered on time and within budget. 

  • Represent the software development team to external teams, stakeholders, and customers. 

  • Communicate effectively with team members, customers, and external parties.

  • Demonstrate empathy towards team members and their concerns.

  • Provide leadership to the team and inspire them to achieve their goals.

  • Develop a vision for the team and work towards achieving it. 

  • Make sound decisions that benefit the team and the company. 

  • Negotiate effectively with external parties to achieve favorable outcomes for the team, the program, and the company. 

  • Follow up with team members and external parties to ensure that commitments are met. 

  • Posses strong operational skills to ensure the team's objectives are met.

  • Encourage team members to work without feeling pushed, creating a positive work environment. 

Required skills: 

  • Experience as a Technical Leader (+2)

  • Experience planning and leading projects - all project phases (3+)

  • Experience leading IT Projects of any kind - Infrastructure, Transformation, Application Development (5+) 

  • Experience with microservices is required, specifically with AWS. Experience with other cloud platforms such as GCP or Azure is a plus, but AWS is essential.

  • Experience with TypeScript or Javascript development (Typescript is preferred).

  • Proven experience in leading incident management processes. 

  • Knowledge of MS Excel including capabilities to produce presentations and data models including analytical tools (formulas, VLookUp, charts, graphs, and pivot tables) (2+) 

  • Demonstrated analytical, consulting, negotiation, and problem-solving skills (2+) 

  • Demonstrated experience producing and maintaining project documents and processes (3+) 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, or  Information Systems. 

  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate messages. 

  • Advanced English communication skills (B2+).
