Finance, Accounting Manager - El Salvador & Guatemala
Position overview:
TELUS Digital is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our growing organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical accounting under IFRS, is organized and detail-oriented, a self-starter that is adaptable to change, can prioritize multiple tasks to meet competing deadlines, and play a pivotal role in improving company processes. The primary responsibilities for this role will focus on financial accounting and reporting, the monthly financial close process at the corporate head office, preparation of statutory and other compliance reports, ongoing improvement of the broader financial control environment, and other requirements that are expected from a key contributor in the head office team.
Key responsibilities:
Responsible for the monthly close process for the Canadian and U.S. head offices, including the preparation and review of accounting journal entries and account reconciliations; collaborate with cross-functional business partners while leveraging inputs from multiple ERP systems
Conduct technical accounting research and prepare documentation; communicate and collaborate with the business and FP&A to understand the accounting and impact
Lead the accounting of certain areas such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, purchase accounting over business combinations, intercompany transactions and monthly regional close.
Coordinate with external auditors and prepare information to support the global consolidated audit, interim reviews and SOX testing
Work closely with our global regional finance teams to guide and support local compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures and review statutory financial statements
Partner with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit, and other cross functional groups to achieve objectives
Recommend and streamline processes and initiate improvements where necessary
Support and enhance internal controls across global finance organization
Ad hoc work as required to ensure the success of the broader organization
Mandatory Requirements & Core competencies:
Minimum 2 years of proven experience in Staff Position (Supervisory Role) - Required

General accounting and account reconciliations
Qualifications:
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with 6+ years of experience in corporate accounting
CPA designation in good standing
Strong knowledge of IFRS required and proficiency in the use of Google Sheets
Experience with ERP systems (e.g. Workday) an asset
Experience in a global business environment adhering to multiple stakeholders is an asset
Excellent accounting and analytical abilities
Effective written and oral communication skills
Self-starter with high attention to detail and organized working style
Ability to work collaboratively across regional and departmental functions
